Grants Policy
The Hamer Family Fund advisory board does not accept unsolicited applications. However, individuals and organisations who believe their purpose and activities fit one or more of the fund’s aims can send in a description of their organisation and activities to hamerfund@gmail.com This description should be no longer than two pages. The advisory board may then invite a project submission.
Project Criteria
- Tax-deductibility: normally, grants can only be made to charitable entities which are endorsed as DGRs (deductible gift recipients).
- Amount: no more than $10 000.
- Purpose: must fit with Fund aims (see homepage).
- Duration: project to run for no longer than a year (but could be part of a larger ongoing enterprise).
- Accountability: the project outcomes must be assessed and fully reported on.
- Plain English: preference will be given to succinct submissions written in plain language, without jargon.
